A glorious sunny day on the course, though we played just 17 holes as the 16th was under reconstruction. The upside was an earlier finish at the clubhouse, where Irmgard treated us to chocolates and savoury snacks.

The Official Guide to the Rules of Golf (R&A/USGA) state that Golf clubs and committees can adopt local rules when local conditions require special provisions.This is a wording to cater for the new rocky areas which we are told are considered part of the course.If your ball is in a rocky area you may take relief for one penalty stroke by using one of the following options:
Stroke-and-Distance Relief – Go back to where the previous stroke was made and play again.
Back-on-the-Line Relief – Drop a ball as far back as you want on a line going straight back from the hole through the point where the ball last crossed the edge of the rocky area.
Lateral Relief – Drop a ball within two club lengths of the point where the ball last crossed the edge of the rocky area, not nearer the hole.
