THE COMP FOR BILLYS GLASS WILL BE ON 29TH.OCTOBER PRESENTATION AT GDS AFTER THE LAST GAME IS IN.TO WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP PRIZE OR 'BIILLYS GLASS A PLAYER MUST HAVE COMPETED IN A MINIMUM OF 4 QUALIFYING COMPETITIONS IN THE PREVIOUS 12 MONTHS.

                                                       BROKEN GROUND AT GDS                 

If the Committee defines an area as ground under repair (GUR), you are entitled to free relief even if it is not physically marked with paint or stakes on the course.

Under the official R&A Definitions, Ground Under Repair includes:

"Any part of the course the Committee defines as ground under repair (whether by marking it or otherwise)."

Determine the Nearest Point of Complete Relief in the same area of the course, which is no closer to the hole and avoids all interference from the condition.

Measure a one club-length relief area from that reference point using your longest club (other than a putter).

​​​​​​PLEASE NOTE LOCAL RULE RELATING TO THE ROCKY AREAS WHICH ARE NOW PART OF THE COURSE.

The Official Guide to the Rules of Golf (R&A/USGA) state that
Golf clubs and committees can adopt local rules  when local conditions require special provisions.

This is a  wording to cater for the new rocky areas which we are told are considered part of the course.

 

If your ball is in a rocky area you may take relief for one penalty stroke by using one of the following options:

1. Stroke-and-Distance Relief – Go back to where the previous stroke was made and play again.

2. Back-on-the-Line Relief – Drop a ball  as far back as you want on a line going straight back from the hole through the point where the ball last crossed the edge of the rocky area.
    

3. Lateral Relief – Drop a ball within two club lengths of the point where the ball last crossed the edge of the rocky area, not nearer the hole.
